Our Approach
My Approach
My tutoring philosophy is centered on the idea that every student is different. As a result, I can not conduct classes with little Johnny (age 8) the same way that I would with Mr. Smith (age 47).
I try to customize the classroom experience to each student’s individual needs, goals and abilities.

In addition, I have also helped students with interview preparation, resume creation and editing and job search basics.
I go into a lot more detail in the Courses section.
My Story
As you’ve probably already know, I have been teaching English since 2008. I like variety and my work experience illustrates that very well. As a result, I often get questions about my career.
I started out teaching in a classroom environment back in 2008. I was teaching the American Heritage portion of a call center course for a company called ‘Edulynx’, located in Manila, Philippines.
After that, I moved on to a Korean-owned company called ‘POMIC Manila’. I was teaching (mainly) conversational English (over the telephone) to employees of POSCO Steel in South Korea.
In 2010, I moved on to teaching business and conversational English to Taiwanese professionals. This was my first experience teaching on an online video classroom platform.
In 2011, I got my first taste of IELTS and TOEFL test preparation while working for ‘EAG English’. It was during this time that I also started teaching Russian students for ‘I Know English’.
In 2013, I started working for ‘Learnship GMBH’, teaching business English to European students.
In December 2015, I moved on to ’51 Talk’ where I still work, today. However, that contract is set to expire soon and I will be moving on to another opportunity.
During my time with 51 Talk I moonlighted for a small start-up called Native English Coach (NEC). However, I did mainly web content development for them.
TESOL Certification
In December 2018, I completed the 120-hour TESOL certification course. It is something I have been wanting to do since 2008 and I am very proud of this achievement.
What is coming in 2019 and beyond
I have been planning to strike out on my own and focus more on private students. Obviously, this website is a huge first step towards that goal. I have always had that entrepreneurial spirit and I fully intend to foster it.
In addition, I want to do some philanthropic work. I will probably volunteer at some local schools (here) in the Philippines, teaching English.
